Meandering The
Interstitial

SStudent Commons

The infill project commences with an investigation into the interplay of solids and voids, exploring the intersection between the stereotomic and interstitial. Within an eroded sculptural mass, the voids are transformed into a winding path, inviting students into a realm of nested and concave spatial experiences that make up a new student commons.

This pathway serves a dual purpose, navigating both inclines and declines while sculpting the geometry to delineate programmatic elements. As it winds through the site, it creates a dynamic playscape that blurs the boundaries between programs and seamlessly integrates with the existing geometry.
