Nestled within Seoul's Donuimun Museum Village lies a captivating chronicle of Korea's architectural heritage, encapsulating tales of tradition and cultural legacy. At its heart are the iconic Hanok Houses, rooted in the concept of "Baesanimsu" - a harmonious connection with nature, exemplified by their mountain-adjacent and riverside settings.

Drawn to the juxtaposition of static form and dynamic metamorphosis within the Hanok typology, I was inspired to create an isometric drawing illustrating the site's architectural evolution over time. Drawing from the concept of "The Garden of Earthly Delights," the triptych timeline depicts the village's developmental journey, with a central focus on the Hanok's adaptive programs.

Despite the changing landscape, one element remains constant: the courtyard. Serving as a timeless anchor amidst shifting surroundings, the courtyard continues to embody the essence of Baesanimsu, fostering a vital connection to nature for inhabitants across generations. Thus, it emerges as a unifying force, seamlessly integrating diverse programs while preserving the spirit of Korean architectural tradition.
